Due to a lot of controversies on the importance of the IQ test in the 19th century, the Binet Scale, aka the Simon-Binet Scale, was first introduced. This Simon-Binet test really proved to be absolutely effective in categorizing small kids into a wide range of groups depending on their actual IQ scores. Therefore you can say that the real IQ test was ultimately born in 1905! However, the background of the IQ test is not going to end here since the definition of "intelligence quotient" or IQ hasn't born yet. We've given birth to the IQ test but not the term. The idea on the fact that this test can really identify the mental age of a kid made the most eminent and popular psychologists start to study it. In 1912, Wilhelm Stern, a renowned German psychologist discovered a very interesting thing. He found that the ratio between mental age and chronological age remained constant.
