I agree with you. Allen might have even been an upgrade in the short term as far as pure sack numbers go. But him being the only one left the Hawks could have turned to had we lost Bennett and the situation would have been a bit dicey.I liked the idea of Allen should we have lost Bennett
Good thing too because Everson Griffen re-signed with the Vikings and that would have only left Jared Allen as their possible contingency plan if Bennett would have walked. There's Michael Johnson too but Johnson is probably out of the Hawks' price range.
Next step: re-sign Tate.

Did you see what Griffen re-signed for? Turns out he would have been more expensive than Bennett. The Vikings overpaid.
