Just days after the Seahawks found out that rookie right guard John Moffitt would be done for the year, the news now comes that right tackle John Carpenter has a torn ACL.
ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting, "Seattle's 1st-rd pick, OT James Carpenter, tore ACL during Weds practice."
With Carpenter out, Breno Giacomini should get the start at right tackle Sunday against St. Louis against defensive tackle Fred Robbins.
It amounts to an extremely string of unfortunate injuries for the hawks o-line, specifically the right side. The Seahawks have yet to fully maximize the investment made on the offensive line, to no one's fault. Russell Okung struggled with ankle injuries early in his career-but he has come on as of late.
It also could mean the Seahawks will continue to draft offensive linemen for depth reasons and depending on the severity of Carpenter's injury. Moffitt's injury, Pete Carroll maintained this week, should not present a long term issue.
