Former New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars defensive tackle Kyle Love worked out for the Seattle Seahawks, according to a league source.
He was released earlier this year by the Patriots with a non-football injury designation after he was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes.
Love started 11 games last season for New England, recording 25 tackles and 1 1/2 sacks. He was cut by the Jaguars after being picked up.
The Seahawks also worked out wide receivers Martel Moore, Sammy Stroughter, Lamaar Thomas and Ty Walker.

Marvin Austin works out for Seahawks

Defensive tackle Marvin Austin was a major disappointment for the Giants after the team made him a second-round pick in the 2011 draft and his brief stay with the team ended last month when the team cut him on the way to 53 players.
Austin played in just eight games in two years and his most memorable moment came in this year’s preseason when his hit on Mark Sanchez in the fourth quarter of the exhibition game against the Jets led to an injured shoulder for the quarterback and a contentious Rex Ryan press conference. Still, Austin wasn’t drafted that long ago and other teams are looking to see if maybe the old change of scenery card can turn things around.
Adam Caplan of ESPN reports that Austin worked out for the Seahawks, who made one move to shore up their depth at final cuts when they traded for defensive tackle D’Antony Smith. Austin could be a possibility to further address that desire or it could just be a case of updating an emergency list should injuries strike the first line of Seattle’s defense.
Austin also paid a visit to the Lions earlier this week in his quest to find continued employment as an NFL player.
