Hey y'all. Just wanted to apss on the news that one of Earl's team mates and friends passed away here in Orange, TX after throwing his second touchdown pass of the night.
Reggie Garrett, who was wearing Earl's old #12 (the number had been retired because of Earl, but he graciously let his friend wear it for what was to be his senior season), threw a touchdown pass into the end zone, and after getting to the sidelines, collapsed, and never regained conciousness. There are no autopsy findings as of right now, but suffice it to say that Earl's old high school team, and the community at large, are in shock.
The whole SE Texas area teams are wearing #12 stickers on their helmets for the rest of the season, and the term "112%" which was Reggie's favorite, are being emblazoned on stickers and sidelines throughout the area. If some of you can, make up some signs with 112% on them for the 'Hawks and Earl's next home game.
I appreciate y'all making Earl feel at home in Seattle. I love your city, have visited a couple of times, and love the 'Hawks...even in the years they weren't so loveable.
Thanks again for your support.
