The Seahawks announced their first round of roster moves Monday, and the biggest transaction involved one of their more promising rookies.
First-year defensive tackle Jesse Williams, the Seahawks' fifth-round draft pick, has been placed on injured reserve, which will prevent him from playing the entire 2013 season. Knee problems have plagued the 325-pound Australian throughout the preseason.
The Seahawks also announced the following cuts: WR Perez Ashford, LB Kyle Knox, TE Jameson Konz, TE Andrei Lintz, LS Kyle Nelson, DT Martin Parker and LB Craig Wilkins.
Finally, they terminated the contract of WR Brett Swain.
The Seahawks' roster is down to 81 players, meaning they have six more players must be removed by Tuesday
