Walter Jones and Kasey Keller will help celebrate the grand opening of the Seahawks and Sounders FC newest Pro Shop on Friday by having their hands cast in molding gel.
The hands of Jones and Keller have played significant roles in the fortunes of both franchises. Jones, who retired last year, was a nine-time Pro Bowl selection and started at left tackle for the Seahawks from 1997-2008. Keller has been the make-a-difference goalkeeper in the first three seasons for Sounders FC, including playoff appearances in their first two seasons.
The hand-molding ceremony will begin at 3 p.m. at the new Pro Shop, which is on the corner of Pike Street and Fifth Avenue in downtown Seattle. The molds will then be on display at the 3,330 square-foot store.
Other grand-opening activities will include appearances by the Sea Gals, Blitz, the Seahawks’ Blue Thunder drumline, the Sounders FC Sound Wave brass band and Sounders FC Academy players.
