Minnesota Vikings quarterback Tarvaris Jackson (7) looks downfield to pass. The Minnesota Vikings defeated the New York Giants by a score of 20 to 19 at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in Minneapolis, Minnesota. ICON SM

Update: The Seahawks could be seriously making a move towards Vikings free-agent Sidney Rice as well-Stay Tuned.

The Matt Hasselbeck era in Seattle is officially over. The team will not re-sign the 35-year old free-agent QB.

The team will sign free-agent QB Tarvaris Jackson as you have probably heard by this point.

Hasselbeck leaves Seattle having played 10 seasons for the Seahawks, starting 131 games with 29,434 yards passing and 176 TDs.

The San Francisco 49ers, Miami Dolphins are all said to be interested in Hasselbeck, but the Tennessee Titans allegedly will give him the chance to start and the most money.

In comes Tarvaris Jackson to the emerald city with a career 76.6 passer rating, 58-percent completion percentage and a 10-10 win loss record as a QB-and more potential and frustration than production during the last five seasons in Minnesota, part of which were hindered by Brett Favre's refusal to call it a career.

Jackson's contract, according to reports, will be two-years in length worth a total of $8-million but you imagine it will have a good deal of incentives as well.

Jackson could be the outright starter or may compete with Charlie Whitehurst to open training camp, but everything indicates it is Jackson's job to lose.

New Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell held the same position in Minnesota with Jackson since 2006 when the QB was drafted in the second round.

Stay tuned, we'll have more on Jackson's arrival in Seattle and comment's if there is a press conference.
