The knee injury that knocked cornerback Sam Shields out of the game on San Francisco’s second play from scrimmage was obvious. The knee injury that caused linebacker Mike Neal to leave on the opening drive wasn’t. Like Shields, Neal is questionable to return. Both exited for the locker room on carts.
