NHL and NBA in Seattle ?

I heard a private group was super close to securing a large amount of land just south of Safeco for a new arena that would support both an NBA team and an NHL team. I think there was like one building refusing to sell.

I'm not to big on Basketball but we would come over for a Sonic's game back in the day. And would love a Hockey team in the region so I really hope this happens. Just need a Nascar track and I'd be all set.

I wasn't either. Then I was in Vancouver a couple years ago during a Canucks playoff run. Converted me. Easily my number two sport behind football.

I didn't see much chatter from ya on Facebook during the Finals run! Get up in there this year!!

18 nailed it..NFL, NHL..My top two as well..NHL is unreal live...

As for Yotes...I have some insider knowledge and they have inquired about HOME DATES at a local venue for 2012-13....Let that marinate...

I've never seen a hockey game in person, I only hear good things though. Everyone either says that they gained a ton of appreciatioon for the game or that its a great place for a date... Which still seems weird to me, seeing as how hockey is so violent.

I've been to a couple winterhawk games and one Spokane vs Seattle game. Pretty fun especially when they end in a shoot out

Nascar is not a sport. it's a man pushing his foot down on a gas petal and his hands turning a steering wheel in a car decorated in advertisments around and around and around a track.

We've already been over this. It IS a sport so are golf, darts, bowling, etc. but the participants are not athletes, very skilled? Yes. Well conditioned? Maybe. Not athletes though.

Anyone else going to be getting season ticket for 2012 NHL hockey in Seattle?

NVM, just read the article. How close is this to actually being a reality?

BTW, saw Big Lou and a few other Seattle guys sitting right behind the OKC bench at the Blazers game last night, rockin SuperSonic signs! One sign said "Seattle drafted Durant". Wish I could've been close enough to hear what they were saying to the OKC players.
