"We didn't have enough firepower to offset [the Steelers]", Pete Carroll explained after a brutal 24-0 loss in Pittsburgh.
"This is a process we're in, it's a hard lesson we have to learn to come out here and go at these guys and really not accomplish anything on offense."
"We have to stay the course, we have to keep working, keep battling," Carroll added.
Carroll also said he needs to "help" his offense better to move the chains. The offense did not cross into Steeler territory until the 4th quarter.
The sad numbers: 2-for-12 on 3rd downs. 164 total yards and only 47 yards rushing.
Carroll said he didn't really feel the season had started, and that playing the first home game next Sunday against the Cardinals in Seattle will be a fresh start of sorts.
Carroll agreed the offense has no continuitiy right now, but when pressed by the media he confirmed that Tarvaris Jackson would play next Sunday, saying "This is not a one-guy situation. This is a lot of guys, the coaches are included and myself."
Jackson's numbers 20 of 29 for 159 yards but the ability to move the chains is what matters.
Jackson said after the game "We couldn't get a rhythm we couldn't put two third-down conversions back to back. That's all about rhythm."
