Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III is a Heisman candidate and probably will be the focus of this year’s annual debate as to whether he possesses attributes of an NFL QB. You know the attributes that Blaine Gabbert had (drafted 10th overall by the Jaguars and struggling) and Cam Newton and Tim Tebow did not.

Tarvaris Jackson as you know signed a two-year deal, and is the Seahawk's franchise quarterback at the moment. GM John Schneider has conceded in the past that they would consider moving on to a different QB if Jackson didn't work out. Pete Carroll has not really indicated that.

The idea that the Seahawks must draft a franchise QB will be there this spring regardless of what happens in the remaining four games of this season-even if Jackson throws up huge numbers and the 'Hawks go undefeated.

If the season ended today the Seahawks would draft 13th overall in the draft.

Brock Huard of ESPN 710 radio in Seattle said Wednesday that he believes the Seahawks should go after Griffin III.

Huard is very high on Griffin and says he has spoken with NFL personnel who say their only concern about the Baylor quarterback is his size, specifically his height. Huard thinks Griffin will be a Top 15 pick.

NFL Draft Scout via CBS Sports has Griffin ranked as the third best quarterback behind Andrew Luck and Matt Barkely and as the seventh best prospect overall in next year’s draft. Griffin is ranked 11th on Mel Kiper's Big Board. There are some doubters obviously, Scouts Inc, via ESPN has Griffin ranked as the 21st overall talent in next year's draft.
