With Marshawn Lynch under investigation by Bellevue Police, the Seahawks have released a statement calling the allegations against the running back "bogus."
"While we maintain the utmost respect for the investigative process, after speaking with Marshawn, we are comfortable these accusations are bogus," the statement read.
On Monday, BPD said it was looking into allegations of assault and personal property damage made by a woman who identified Lynch as the suspect. The incident was alleged to have occurred Sunday morning at a downtown Bellevue apartment.
The BPD said that no arrests had been made and that it was looking into whether Lynch was even involved.
Lynch practiced Tuesday. Coach Pete Carroll spoke with the media afterward but declined to elaborate on the situation.
"I'm just going along with the statement that we made for right now," he said. "Just support whatever the statement was from the club."
Carroll was asked what he's telling the team regarding the situation.
"It's not a topic for us right now," he said. "We're not talking about it."
