Update Thursday 3:50 p.m: Sidney Rice is in danger of missing Sunday's game. Carroll said that left guard Robert Gallery could still start and has a better chance of playing in the game than Rice who remains day-to-day with a should injury.
------
Wednesday Pete Caroll was asked about the possiblity of signing now free-agent quarterback David Garrard.
Garrard was released in curious fashion by the Jacksonville Jaguars on Tuesday.
Carroll said, "We know him really well and he’s a really good football player and I have a lot for respect for him, but we’re very set with what we’re doing at quarterback."
Seahawks QB coach Carl Smith coached Garrard as the offensive coordinator with the Jacksonville Jaguars previously.
It appears to be Tarvaris Jackson or bust at QB for the 'Hawks in 2011.
-Left guard Robert Gallery did not practice Wednesday because of a knee strain he suffered last week against Oakland. His status is day to day.
If Gallery can't play Sunday, then rookie James Carpenter would move over to left side to take his place at guard and Breno Giacomini would start at right tackle. Carpenter and Gallery are expected to split time at right tackle as it was even without Gallery's injury.
Wide receiver Sidney Rice did not practice Wednesday because of a sore shoulder. He also is day-to-day.
Carroll though sounded optimistic that both would be able to play Sunday with limited practice.
"Neither guy would be as sharp but those guys are examples of guys that could play with limited practice time," Carroll said.
"There aren't a lot of guys like that on our team, but those guys definitely could."
