There is no point in reviving the old debate stemming from Golden Tate's disputed touchdown reception for the Seattle Seahawks against Green Bay last season.

We've been there and done that.

Tate's teammate, Richard Sherman, wasn't looking to replay that discussion when he secured the replacement official responsible for making the call to work his charity softball game over the weekend. Sherman was mostly looking to promote the event. Media fallout suggests he succeeded.

Early and mid-July tend to be the s-s-s-slow point of the NFL offseason. Charity softball games usually gain zero traction nationally even in this news-deprived environment. Sherman found a way to change that. We know him as one of the best and brashest cornerbacks in the NFL. He can be pretty savvy, too.
