Im from the east side, me and a buddy are taking the wives over to do some shopping Sunday, were looking for a good sports bar to watch the game. Any suggestions? Were staying downtown at the Red Lion off of fifth Ave.

Oskar's Kitchen shows the games and is hosted by the owner a guy known as Shawn Kemp (not very crowded actually which is pretty cool because the man talk to you himself)..

Really that's where I'd go....FX and places near the stadium are packed...This is right by KeyArena and not very far north of Westlake where the shopping is...

And the food is primo and priced really good for a place like that..

Let us know where you end up and how it was...Always like to get the out of towners views on local establishments...

If you want to stay in the immediate downtown area, here a few suggestions.

  1. Rock Bottom Brewery is a block south of your hotel: http://goo.gl/maps/1QD3i
  2. Fox Sports Grill is a couple blocks from your hotel: http://goo.gl/maps/GKzpU
  3. And Gordon Biersch is just a bit past Fox Sports Grill: http://goo.gl/maps/GGcwg

Rock Bottom would be my place of choice. Best food and beer of the three. Decent amount of TVs (at least the last time I was there). I watched Romo botch the snap in 2007 playoffs there.

Fox Sports definitely has the most and biggest TVs. But the food is 100% average.

Gordon Biersch has some good food, okay TVs, but the beer is meh.

Not a fan of Gordon Biersch beer? I like their Hef from time to time. They brew more of a traditional German Hef, unlike Widmer or Pyramid.

Daniel's Broiler is a chain, too. Guess we should discount them... Just because a place is a chain doesn't mean a thing.

Oskars isn't any better than a chain. Sorry.

When it comes to food and beer, I usually* avoid chains like a plauge.

When it comes to watching a game, I usually go with a chain. Something like dbubs or FOX with big screens covering every square inch. I'm sure there are some legit hole in the wall sports bars in Seattle, but I don't know of any.

Chains suck except for BDubs...Oskar's has great food and the portions are nice and priced wonderfully....

And Daniel's Broiler is NOT a chain...Just like Duke's, Dick's, Burgermaster, and Ezell's aren't "Chains"--they are locally owned and not outside the Puget Sound region...They might have a couple of locations but they are hardly "chains"...In fact they are all privately owned locally...

Just because they are local doesn't mean they aren't chains. Regardless, Oskars is still average. And each brewer at each Rock Bottom is given free reign to create their own beers and can tailor the menu as well.

The guy asked for options to watch a game. You gave him one and I gave him some. Quit being stupid about it.
