I've been getting the original "The Prisoner" series from the 60's on Netflix. I have heard there is a mini-series in the works based on this visionary series.
The basis idea is our hero played by Patrick McGoohan resigns his position as a spy. He is drugged by a henchman, and when he awakes, he is in an idyllic place called the village, where some of the residents are other spies being held for information, and others are part of the overlords. Nobody has a name and is referred to as a number. Each episode our hero No. 6 either tries to escape, or finds some way to foil his superiour No. 2. It has an Orweillian theme throughout the series, and has a great visual look of what the future would look like from an 1960's viewpoint.
You should check it out if you get a chance before the new version comes out.
