Training camp is just two weeks away and we'll be amping up our coverage here at SeahawksHuddle.

Training camp begins Saturday July 28th at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center and will conclude August 15th.

Of course the Seahawks will have four preseason games beginning Saturday August 11th in Seattle against the Denver Broncos and concluding Thursday August 30th, when the Oakland Raiders visit Century Link.

For the most part it has been a quiet offseason from the point quarterback Matt Flynn was acquired.

RB Justin Forsett, TE John Carlson, G Robert Gallery, DE Raheem Brock, DT Tony Hargrove, ILB David Hawthorne, and SS Atari Bigby are no longer Seahawks. But there is a lot of excitement about rookies Bruce Irvin, LB Bobby Wagner, QB Russell Wilson, the addition of veteran tight end Kellen Winslow, and then of course there's the QB battle intrigue, we'll get to that in a moment.

No major off the field issues have occurred. The star, the franchise, Marshawn Lynch, a.k.a. MoneyLynch Mr. Beastmode himself has been quite busy, a lot with his Family First Foundation.

Lynch recently hosted a free football camp for 600 Oakland youths, and will be hosting another FamilyFirst Foundation event this weekend in Oakland, California. You can find more info at http://www.facebook.com/fam1stfamilyfoundation

And Lynch earlier this offseason, appeared in the Seattle independent film "Matt's Chance." You can check out photos of MoneyLynch on the set here.

Tarvaris Jackson was recently in Minneapolis training with Twin Cities native, Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald

Jackson told ESPN Radio regarding the upcoming QB competition, ""You only know what coaches tell you. Coaches have been pretty straightforward about the competition. It's all you can ask. Just let me know where I stand. That's all you can really ask for -- know the truth and let the best man win."

Seahawks wide receiver Sidney Rice tweeted a sample of his offseason workouts

Kam Chancellor and Richard Sherman are working out together.

Chancellor and Sherman will be among Seahawks players at a series of 12th man events throughout the northwest region this month.

From all accounts Matt Flynn is working out and studying Darrell Bevell's playbook (via iPad of course, those playbooks in a binders don't exist anymore)

Earlier this week Flynn drove to Miami to Dolphins Stadium to play catch with wide receiver Doug Baldwin.

Flynn told the Pensacola New Journal, "Last year, Doug being undrafted, obviously, I’m sure he had something to prove coming in, a chip on his shoulder, and he more than proved he belongs on the field. I’ve been throwing to him for only two months but I can already see how he’s a special player and will be around for a long time."

ESPN's John Clayton said after OTAs that he didn't think Flynn really did enough to distinguish himself over Jackson.

"(Flynn) hasn't wowed anybody in all the offseason program," Clayton said (via Rotoworld).

"And because of that, when they start training camp, Tarvaris Jackson will be taking the first snap. ... It's still gonna be a three-way competition. Because of that, Flynn's going to have to pick things up and wow everybody or at least take control of it during camp. He's not done it yet."

Head coach Pete Carroll has been involved both in his Win Forever Foundation in Southern California and also with the NFL's Play 60 program.

Carroll also has been hanging out with his pal Elijah Asante, a high school football coach in Southern Cal who Carroll became friends with during his time at USC, Fox Sports West reports.

If you ever thought Carroll's heart is still is in So-Cal you wouldn't be alone. And with word that the NFL will return to Los Angeles by 2013, those rumors may have a life of their own.

The publication, Pro Football Weekly, which last season falsely reported that there was a rift between general manager John Schneider and Caroll, recently speculated on Carroll's job security.

"Carroll has two 7-9 seasons to his name in Seattle, but he bought a little lasting credence with a shocking playoff victory against the Saints two years ago. He also appears to have a strong ally in GM John Schneider, who works hand in hand with Carroll to pick players and build the roster. They seem to share a vision. And it’s a strong, perhaps underrated roster that they have built, with a defense that might be ready to vault into the top handful of the NFL if the pass rush develops. But what happens if they can’t find a solution at quarterback? Even in a weak division, they likely can’t play the shuffle game with Matt Flynn, Russell Wilson or Tarvaris Jackson and expect to take down the 49ers and what Jim Harbaugh has built there so quickly. They must develop offensively and take advantage of the fact that the rest of the division remains vulnerable to varying degrees."

There's reason enough to believe that nothing would doom Carroll in 2013 short of losing the team and that's one thing that will never happen under Carroll. So save those's hotseat rumors for 2013, just in time for LA to get a franchise.

Wilson, the rookie starter?

A former NFL exec said he thought rookie quarterback Russell Wilson could beat out Flynn and Jackson for the starter's job.

It's hard to believe anyone thinks that will happen, but Tony Softli, who was in the front office previously for the Carolina Panthers and St. Louis Rams, told ESPN's Johnson Clayton that Willson will defintely be the Seahawks starter.
