Corner Marcus Trufant will not play in today’s game against the Giants because of the back spasms that prevented him from practicing on Thursday and Friday.
Walter Thurmond will start for Trufant, and rookie Richard Sherman will take over on the left side in the nickel when Thurmond slides inside cover the slot receiver.
