So much for the reported reunion between Seahawks coach Pete Carroll and Matt Leinart.
The quarterback who played for Carroll at USC and reportedly had agreed in principal to join the Seahawks on Tuesday has decided to stay with the Houston Texans, as John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Leinart decided to return to the Texans, where he is the backup to Matt Schaub, after Tavaris Jackson reportedly agreed to sign with the Seahawks on Tuesday.
Leinart, the Heisman Trophy winner in 2004 on the Carroll-coached national championship team at USC, was a first-round draft choice by the Arizona Cardinals in 2006. He signed with the Texans last year after being released by the Cardinals.
