Much of the NFL world is in Mobile this week for the Senior Bowl practices, including Seahawks coach Pete Carroll and the team’s entire scouting department.
Most of the attention on Monday centered on University of Washington QB Jake Locker, who might or might not be one of the top picks in April’s NFL draft. In practice, Locker displayed the same pluses and problems that were evident on Saturdays for the Huskies.
Rob Rang of NFLDraftScout.com filed this report, offering, “Scouts were anxious to find out whether relocation from Seattle to Mobile, Ala., and the Senior Bowl would improve Jake Locker’s effectiveness. If Monday’s practice was any indication, the change of scenery didn’t change the quarterback.”
Danny O’Neil of the Seattle Times made a similar read in this blog post, saying, “The most impressive quarterback at Monday’s Senior Bowl practice wore No. 10. That quarterback, however, wasn’t necessarily Jake Locker.”
O’Neil also checks in with Locker in this story. “It’s another step and it’s fun to be a part of right now. I’m excited about it,” the QB said.
