Tebow might be trending that way but...He beats Pissburgh in a Wild Card Game and it was a successful season for him...I think he wins this game...

I agree on the successful season. And I think he has a good chance to win, not necessarily because he is that great, but because the Stealers are pretty beat up. And I, of course, will root for him to win during this one game. :)

Sorry if I offended you with my propensity to freely think and voice my opinion. If you cannot handle having your own opinion, voicing it, and fighting for it, this place is not for you. I could brainlessly say yes to Flynn, but much to your disliking, this is a discussion forum. Not a consensus building forum. You have as much right to not read my posts as I have to write them.

You can read my posts (I think) and decide if I am in or out on Flynn. And I would like to see where I "waffle."

Not offended, and have read all your posts, your still in the fence as far as I can tell, leaning on the side of dismissing his stats becuase he has the same weapons that Aarron Rogers has, and that really is saying to me is that you dont think Aarron Rogers is not that good of QB either, which is ludicrius. Flynn will cost as he will be top FA QB coming out so we will have to likely break the bank. I was just disagreeing with you, if thats okay....

On the fence is a lot different than waffling. Perhaps you should choose your words more carefully.

And if you read any kind of national media, you would realize I am definitely not alone in wondering that if a 7th round pick can come in rusty and put up the numbers he did, how much of Rodgers' success is him and how much is the system and the team around him.

As I said before, I would like to see him carry the team on his shoulders. I do not think that is a lot to ask of a potential franchise QB.

I don't really think my thoughts are that different than most other people's here including yours. You are just willing to bet the franchise on him and I am not convinced. So I'll make my call right now. I think for the right price the 'Hawks should take a good look at him - by the right price I mean less than eight digits a year.

Flynn ????? LOL really ??????

Flynn is this off seasons Kolb. Which BTW the Eagles wish they would have kept now. He is so totally a system guy that its not even a issue. He isn't stepping in here and throwing for 480 and six TD's ? He has a o-line that protects and WR's that get open, know where to be and what to do when a play breaks down. Green Bay would be smart to pay the guy to stay right where he's at, after seeing the Eagles and Colts, Bears and others this year lose everything after losing the QB

PC has proven he doesn't do things like other coaches and teams , he's not so far removed from the college game that he doesn't know a thing or two about who's out there, and it may not be a marquee name.

There are quite a few really good Qb's in this draft I'll just throw out Weeden from last nights game had a great season, played very well last night . Was drafted and played pro baseball before returning to college.

I wouldn't forget about Portis either

Yes, your right, I did not mean waffling, sorry, more of paralisis by overannalysis. But I like that you made your stand! Flynn for 9.9 M then!? He could be got for that perhaps, I think there will only be a few teams in the bidding war for him.

Flynn (and Roger's) sucess can most certianly be attributed to the team, system, and coach's around them.
I think next years hawks have that in place for someone like Flynn to come in, with the OL/Running game/ WR's and coach's. A good team can make a decent QB good , and a good one great! I think he is good.

You want to bring someone in, then go get Peyton Manning its clear that Ersay is going young and new across the board. 5-6 more years left in the tank, a chip on the shoulder. He would never come to Seattle but its fun to dream !

I guess I am tired of settling for that. I want a damn superstar for once. No disrespect to Hasselbeck, because I still love the guy, but I want someone that is feared. I want a Manning, Brady, Brees, etc. I realize that may not be possible, but that's what I want! Haha.

I'm not totally sold on Flynn and, unless Rodgers gets hurt and Flynn carries the Packers to a win or two in the playoffs, there's nothing that will completely sell me on him. I think he's better than Kolb though... I'd still prefer Luck, but he will cost a TON of draft picks... One thing I haven't seen being discussed is what if the Colts release Manning we sign him? That allows us to draft Landry Jones and develop him under Peyton. That could be a risk because of his health, but that would immediately make us an elite team.

If Colts release Payton, than I think that might be a buyer beware for everyone else, unless they are so sold on Luck that they are willing to give up on argueably one of the best to play the game ever??? I dont think so...

I also dont see Landry getting past Redskins (as you can see in my new post "VERY EARLY MOCK DRAFT").

I guess I am not totally sold on Flynn completely either, but I just like the dude. Seems humble, had a great game, and has learned under a winning franchise. I dont compare him to Kolb, because I never got any warm fuzzy from Kolb, mainly because of injuries (head), and his stats werent great. And to 18's point Flynn might be likened to Cassell, but I think he might have more upside, just a gut feeling though.

Shaub is a decent comparison from what I've seen. Shaub puts up gaudy stats, but he has the best WR in the league.

Who cares if he was picked or where he fell in draft? Scouts whiff all the time...

He only succeeded when he had ridiculous weapons around him. He gets beat out by Bulger (seriously?) goes to a average, at best, NYG team and can't do shit, and has to barely beat out Matt Leinart using the all-world Larry Fitzgerald to jump start his career again. He was all over the place. I like his story for sure, but he is not exactly a quarterback that transcends systems and succeeds in every situation.

And scouts do whiff, but I would bet they get it right at the top of the draft more than they do at the bottom of the draft. You just will not hear about it because the expectations are different. If Warner had gone number 1 overall, his story would not be nearly as compelling.
