Joe Tofflemire, a second-round draft choice by the Seahawks in 1989, died today. He was 46.
He was found unconscious and unresponsive at his home in Post Falls, Idaho, and later died in a Coeur d’Alene hospital, according to Facebook postings from his family and a report in the Arizona Daily Star.
Tofflemire, who played his college ball at Arizona, started 16 games at center for the Seahawks in 1992. He had experienced physical problems since retiring after the 1994 season.
