One thing I have noticed in both clips is too much time in the shotgun. And the few plays from under center, at least from what I remember, did not go well. That is somewhat concerning.
I definitely agree on some of the short throws. I think his receivers bailed him out.
One thing that I noticed, he tossed a horrid interception that was nullified because of a penalty. It was all around bad, though. He was lucky. (I'll edit the post if I watch the video again with the...
Let's try and keep this thread a little more civilized, please. With that, I figure I would throw out a video of Flynn in the Lions game to discuss.
What do you like? What do you not like?

Too bad for them Hasselbeck then took the opportunity to light them up.
I think we have talked about this, but that was NOT GB's #2 offense. The only first stringer that was not playing was Greg Jennings due to being hurt.
Here is every Matt Flynn throw from that Lions game. A bit above average, in my opinion, but nothing earth shattering. There are, in fact...
Sorry. I forget that I have to dumb it down for some...
Ida asked what makes me sure that we cannot find better in the draft. Nothing about Flynn makes me sure we cannot find better in the draft. It is not likely that we do, but it is definitely not out of the realm of possibility.
I think it would be excessive if Goodell had not told them to cut it out and take care of it behind the scenes. But since they did not, it is more of a "Don't fuck with me" message. Good for him.
Absolutely nothing makes me sure we cannot find better. I am sure there are better ones out there. And as I said many times, signing Flynn (or Manning at the time), does not preclude us from trying to find a better one. That's what PC and JS are doing with Jackson in signing Flynn.
Wait a...
Matthew = Hasselbeck.
Matt = Flynn.
Ida - I guess my question is, what makes you think any of those guys in the 3, 4, or 5th rounds will be any better than Flynn? In fact, history says the middle of the draft is the worst place to find a quarterback.
94 - I gotta side with flip on this...
So you want to draft a guy like Flynn instead of signing Flynn? I get where you are coming from and agree, but I don't think the Flynn signing precludes them from doing such.
If you were in PC and JS's seat, what would you be doing right now? I think it is easy to say I don't want this guy or I don't want that guy, but it is more grey than that.
Oh. And Whitehurst's deal with San Diego is again for $4 million a year. If Clipboard Jesus gets $4 million a year, I see no problem with the deal Flynn got. Man, what a gig. $4 million to walk the sidelines of an NFL game holding a clipboard.
Of the three finalists, this is where I wanted him to go:
1. Titans: Hasselbeck gets release and probably signs with either the Browns or the 49ers. Browns would be fine, but not the 49ers.
2. 49ers: Hell no for obvious reasons.
3. Broncos: Whatever.
Whatever won out.
Some tweets from Peter King, the first journalist to talk to Flynn and post something about it.
