In 2003 I think we had 10 wins in 04 I think we dropped to 9 wins so when the 2005 season rolled around I was very hopeful but wasn't thinking Super Bowl like this year . In 2005 we had two early losses and it was looking like a 4-5 loss season based on the schedule but that's when the magic started happening and we ended up going all the way . It was one hell of a run as a fan and one of the most exciting season we've ever had .

Is this a better year to be a fan ?

Do you like being the favorite or an underdog ?

I don't know which team would win in a head to head matchup they are freakishly similar , but I'd give the edge to RW and his legs to be the difference.

Head to head, I think 2013 wins. Lofa Tatupu vs. Marshawn Lynch would be a disaster.

QB: 2013. It was close for me, but Wilson is probably going to go down as one of the best to ever play the game.
RB: 2013.
FB: 2005.
WR: 2013.... Percy Harvin... need I say more?
TE: 2013
OL: 2005 Not even close
DL: 2013
LB: 2013
CB: 2013
S: 2013
ST: 2013
HC: 2005
Front Office: 2013

Michael Boulware and Ken Hamlin starting... No way that secondary could cover these WRs. Grant Wistrom and Bryce Fisher aren't going to run down Wilson.

The LB core of '05 with Hill and Tatupu under then DC Ray Rhodes was special.

Ken Hamlin is still one of my favorite players.

The '05 team would have run all day on this team (or any other) but in the end I think 2013 would distance themselves with that dynamic passing . game. Plus I think '13 defense would win the turnover battle.

I think the run struggles were an apparition for this team. I think they'd keep Alexander in check, my biggest worry would be Engram.

I still have that entire 05 season on DVD , there was a guy on here that made copies of every game for anybody that wanted them . I've never watched them or wanted to .

Oh hell yeah, so would I, you know how much that shit might be worth some day? Not that you would ever part with it.

I still kick myself for not getting some of that blue and green confetti at the NFC Conf Champship game.

I don't know that I've every seen a thread dedicated to memorabilia on here , it would be cool to see what others have collected .

I think the run struggles were an apparition for this team.

I hope so because giving it up on rushing yards is nothing new to this defense. They started last season lights out and it went downhill from there. I think from around Week 10 on they were dead last in ypc allowed.
They are doing better the last couple games but it's just been a little more of the same as last year so far. The run defense at 16th overall is probably why they are lagging behind KC and Carolina statistically so far so there's room to get better.

As for '05 vs '13, I think the team with home field definitely wins out. Both teams went 8-0 at home while on the other hand the '13 team seems slightly better on the road. Using home field as a hypothetical of course since both played on the same field. Just imagine one team having the entire crowd in their favor while being hostile toward the other.

The '13 team has the edge in every aspect except the O-line. Huge advantage for the '05 team there but the '13 team would neutralize that with the secondary. They would put Kam as an extra in the box to stop the run and win out in man coverage against the likes of DJax, Engram and Jurevicius.

The '13 team just has more playmakers and Wilson has the edge in intangibles on Hasselbeck and would find a way to beat the '05 team even if they had to come from behind to do it.

I kept my ticket stub from the "05 chamionship game, and that ball in my profile pic is a game ball Clemons threw into the stands after Hawthorne's pick 6 vs the eagles in 2011. A jug of Packers pay dirt I got at Lambeau when the Hawks played the packers in '05, and a KC shot glass from Arrowhead in "06. And last but not least, an unopened box of Jones Soda. That stuff tasted like crap, but it looks cool in the hutch!

You guys will hate me for saying this but as a sounders fan things were looking up for the final quarter of the season then shit hit the fan. They were in first while having played less games than everyone else. HAWKS, in a similar situation should be fine, they've already made the playoffs officially, they are down 2 very good cornerbacks though and are one more injury away from having a subpar group there. Still too early to compare in my mind.

For the record I'm taking the 05 team for the leadership they had in place. Immaturity could hold back the 13 team whereas I was more confident in 05 team in that regard. Robbie Tobeck, Lofa Tatupu, Steve Hutch, Walter, not to mention Holmgren had been to a SB. I didn't mention Hass because Wilson has superior leadership. Right now turmoil is amidst, lets see how they respond. On any given day the 13 team is more talented, may have even more chemistry, what I'm saying is continue to Sprint to the end then I'll crown em as better.

Just keeping things in perspective, this could be a more interesting end to the season then we may think. Dec.2 couldn't come soon enough.

The next 5 game will be the more challenging than anyone expected.
SF getting hot and healthy
Cards are hot and in the WC hunt
Giants have won the last 4 games
Saints
And then there is the rams, a completely temperamental but frighteningly talented team who also will want to beat the NFC #1 seed and bitter rival.

Tough road to hoe, but I think we will go 14-2 (beating 05 team record)
Win out in the playoffs at home
Win the SB (1st ever)
And RW will be the MVP.

POW! ...mic drop.
