Cut a 1400 yrd guy for a broken down LT :search:
That doesn't make much sense to me at all. LT's career is done, unlike Thomas Jones' career. Yet LT gets more money and will likely be a backup to Greene in New York.LaceyBALL3R360;46202 said:LT's contract 2 years 5.2 mil, thomas jones 2 years 5 mil and jets had chance to match contract

If I were the Jets I still would have kept Thomas Jones even if the cost was high. It's definitely an easy way to make more money.Number 18;46204 said:This is not accurate. Thomas Jones was due a $3 million roster bonus and $2.8 million in base salary for 2010. Jones' total salary for this season would be $5.8 million v. Tomlinson's $5.1 million over 2010 and 2011.
Number 18's saying that they were also going to have to give him a $3 million roster bonus on top of whatever contract they had to match. Letting him go to the Chiefs allowed them to keep that $3 million roster bonus.LaceyBALL3R360;46208 said:no it is true they were allowed to offer jones the same contract the chiefs did but they didnt. ill find the article if you dont believe
