The Seahawks weren’t snubbed when the All-Pro team was announced after all. Leon Washington made the second team as the kick returner.
That spot on the first team went to Devin Hester of the Chicago Bears.
Asked the week of the team’s divisional playoff game what the difference was between the two, Washington laughed and offered, “The difference is he’s got 14 touchdowns, and I’ve got seven.”
That’s career kickoff and punt returns for touchdowns. During the 2010 season, Washington returned three kickoffs for scores while Hester ran back three punts for TDs.
You can check the entire All-Pro team here – first and second teams. Washington finds himself in some pretty impressive company on the second team, as the Bears’ Brian Urlacher and Ravens’ Ray Lewis are the inside linebackers.
Not surprisingly, Washington also landed a spot on Mike Sando’s All-NFC West team for ESPN.com, as did punter Jon Ryan.
