Looks like they added the use of towels and it looks like there may be referees during plays.

Graphics will be improved like always and I've seen a few videos of the players being able to do a lot more things like have attitudes and being able to move more like a real person.

Compare that screenshot with this screenshot from Madden 09:

Looks like a huge improvement in detail on the players, specifically their uniforms.

Depth of Field
For Madden NFL 10 and NCAA Football 10 we have an all new realistic Depth of Field system calibrated to match real world cameras. This single enhancement not only improves the visual quality of the game but it will allow us to reproduce a broadcast experience unlike ever before.

Single Digit Helmet #s
We have added the ability to center single digit #s on our helmets. Although a small touch, I know Steeler Nation (Including myself) will sleep well knowing Big Ben's helmet is accurate in the game. Ian was happy that we have the Giants correctly emulating this as well.

Super Bowl Patches
Teams will wear Super Bowl patches on their jerseys for the big game, whether you are reliving Super Bowl XLIII or in year 30 of your franchise.

Custom Super Bowl Fields
Utilizing the same tech as NCAA for custom bowl endzones and field art, Madden NFL 10 features team specific end zones, midfield logos, and player boxes that are dynamically configured whether you are reliving Super Bowl XLIII, or in year 30 of your franchise.

Towels
Authentic player towels are in and fully animating, complete with Wilson and NFL Equipment logos. They can be assigned to any player, but can not be moved to the middle of the body (unfortunately due to major clipping issues that were occurring).

Referees on the Field
Unlike last-gen which only had 5, we were able to get all 7 referees in to Madden NFL 10 with AI and a full suite of avoidance (and collision) animations.

Chain Gang on the Sidelines
Because you see it on Sunday, the chain gang has been added back. They dynamically move up and down the sideline giving clear indication of the first down spot and line of scrimmage.

Steelers Don't Wear Captains Patches
And they won't in our game either. Same goes for the Cowboys.

Secondary Color Equipment
Each player will be tagged with the proper color gear. Santonio Holmes wears yellow gloves, so expect him in yellow gloves.

Better Nameplates
Since Madden NFL 06, the letters on the back of the jerseys have all been somewhat squished to account for longer names like Houshmanzadeh. This has been fixed with a new dynamic sizing algorithm, so all names now look correct.

Yay! Shell out more cash for the same game with minor improvements!
The graphics look like they are being improved a lot, the roster will of course be updated and there are a few things that I like that are being said now.

Hopefully they bring out a lot of new things like fixing the Franchise mode to make it more fun.

The graphics were fine... Improve the game play! Improve the franchise and superstar modes. Scouting does absolutely nothing for you in franchise. Superstar mode is not very challenging and needs to be more in depth.. I can play one season and almost be a sure fire hall of famer. Also there needs to be more animations. I'm tired of seeing the same catches and tackles over and over again. Also I'm tired of how easy defensive backs get INTs of deflect passes... I mean man coverage is way too tight, DBs can't read minds. They made it too hard to get pressure on the QB... I mean I don't expect to be getting a sack every play, it's actually pretty good for DEs and DTs... But LBs don't get enough penetration. Running the football is too hard. some of the drills don't do you any good... I train my O-line every week and I get their "stats" in run blocking up to a perfect 99 then I check their stats and they're still an 86 or whatever they were before. Yet you can actually increase your speed as high as you want to. There needs to be a better system there. Use the ESPN license!!! What's the point of having it if you aren't using it? Uh... There's probably more, but that's all I got right now... Bottom line is the graphics aren't the first thing they need to fix..

How about rookies always being rated ridiculously low? There is virtually no such thing as an immediate impact rookie Madden.

They actually are fixing that Man Coverage and have one where the Corner will jump the route (probably if they are really good and if they keep getting the same route ran at them) and they have one where the Corner falls behind.

I was looking on Youtube where EA Sports put a lot of the new animation things and they are going through and fixing a lot of that stuff and they say that they are being able to start working on features a lot earlier than before. So, that probably means a lot of improvements and maybe even a few new features like when they added Madden Moments last year.

It is my pleasure to introduce Madden’s newest piece of technology, one that is also shared within many of the EA SPORTS games, called Procedural Awareness. What is it? We’ll you’ve likely heard of “head tracking” with IK. If you haven’t, it’s a way to turn the players head around to face a target dynamically, without the need for canned animations. Well, think of Procedural Awareness (PA for short) as the “next-gen” version of head tracking. Since it is so early in the year, unfortunately I can’t show you any videos of it running in the game, but I can show some “tech demos” of sorts:
Basically, the corners and WRs will actually look for the ball rather than just keep looking forward and all of a sudden know the ball is there and pick it off or make the catch.

QB Procedural Awareness:

Procedural Awareness 2:

I believe they actually added some size to Big Ben in Madden 10 (I think the Screenshot too), but he still looks small for his size.
