The Minnesota-to-Seattle pipeline has reportedly delivered another offensive player to the Seahawks: Sidney Rice.
The former Vikings wide receiver has agreed to sign with the club, Jay Glazer of Fox Sports is reporting. Players agreeing to terms this week are not allowed to sign their contracts until Friday under guidelines that accompanied the end of the 136-day lockout.
Tuesday, the Seahawks reportedly got an agreement from former Vikings QB Tarvaris Jackson. Both Rice and Jackson played for new offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell in Minnesota.
Rice, 24, was the Vikings’ second-round draft choice in 2007. The 6-foot-4, 202-pound Rice caught 83 passes for 1,312 yards and eight touchdowns in 2009, when Rice was voted to the Pro Bowl. But he played in only six games last season because of a hip injury he got in the NFC Championship game in 2009.
