SAN DIEGO – The Seahawks’ starting wide-outs – Mike Williams and Sidney Rice – are among the 16 players who will not participate in tonight’s preseason opener against the Chargers.
Williams sprained a toe in practice this week, while Rice just joined the team on July 29.
Also sitting out: wide receivers Deon Butler, Ben Obomanu and Kris Durham; tight end Cameron Morrah; tackle Caz Piurowski; cornerbacks Walter Thurmond and Roy Lewis; defensive ends Chris Clemons, Red Bryant and Dexter Davis; and defensive tackles Colin Cole, Jay Alford, Kentwan Balmer and Ryan Sims.
