With the first of their two picks in the fifth round of the NFL Draft, the Seahawks selected a big corner – Richard Sherman of Stanford.
The 6-foot-2, 195-pound Sherman fills a need, and satisfies a desire to get bigger at the position. He started for the Cardinal on the left side last season, after making the transition from receiver to corner in 2009.
The Seahawks also have the 25th pick in the round. Here are their remaining selections:
Fifth round – 25th, 156th overall
Sixth round (1) – 8th pick, 173rd overall
Seventh round (2) – 2nd pick, 205th overall; 41st pick, 242nd overall
