Looking forward to tonights game. Ill be coaching football during the game, but DVR is on and set. Lets start on what to look for, The OL, can they push and be asty with only a week of practice as a group. I hope the gel together, looking forward to the new nasty of the front 5. I think the first play should be Lynch behind Gallery and Okung. If they play smart and keep the turnovers in our favor we should win by 10.

Agreed, but if all possible then I'd like to see a deep ball thrown to Ricardo Lockette!

Game will also be on JoeTV (22 DirecTV and over the air/Comcrap 1o) in the Seattle Market...Joe will have the Q13 guys and Ian Furness from KJR doing a pregame at 4:30 and a 1 hour post game after the gun...So even if you watch the E!spn feed you have something to switch over to after...

Looking for TJack to get involved early and maybe for Pete to test his arm on a couple of verts to Will or Syd....

Of course Okung gets carted off the field. Hopefully he'll be ready for the regular season...

Mr. Glass... guy gets hurt on like the 3rd or 4th play of the first preseason game. I hate to jump the gun but I think I've seen enough from Okung to forcast what his career will be like... "Great guy, had lots of potential, couldn't stay healthy and retired after 4 seasons".

So much for your guys new savior TarSeanJohn... didn't think our offense could be worse than last year, but.... guess two sacks in a row is better than Matt throwing a pick in the same situation.

Brace yourselves for a loooong season. BTW will someone please fucking KILL kelly jennings??! He's like a cancer!! Just won't go away, how can the coaching staff and front office not see how HORRIBLE this guy is?? Yet he's been here since what 2007?? WTF?!?!?

GOOO SEAHAWKS!!! : /

I think the most frustrating part is that 1. he never missed a game in college and 2. we've seen he is already better than a lot of LTs in the league.

Why can't Whitehurst play all the time like he did in the 3rd quarter?

Dude thats what breaks my heart. You saw the difference he makes. As soon as he got hurt, and Polumbus came in TJack got pressure from the left side immediately and it resulted in a "grounding penalty". Before that, the offense was moving the ball comfortably. At the end of the day, his ankles obviously will never be 100%. I had a pretty nasty ankle sprang about 3 years ago, and the ankle never fully heals. Whenever I play football I wear an ankle brace. Otherwise, one bad cut and my ankle just gives out. Really bums me out. The rest of the starting line played pretty good, I was impressed with the two rookies on the right side. Leon played pretty good, he hits the whole fast, very similiar style to Forsett.

Anybody else impressed with Kam Chancellor?? He seemed to play pretty good against the run, he's a sure tackler.

I was just reminded that Walter Jones had trouble with both his ankles when he first got to the NFL. I'm not saying Okung will be Jones, but there is hope.

Dude I hope he can stay healthy. I want to be an optimist, but I've been a Seahawk fan long enough to know better. If he can stay healthy, he can be a monster of a tackle. Even on the play he got hurt, he owned his man. It was very "Jones" like.

Supposedly PC says it's not serious and he should be back soon....

Yeah, I was impressed by him as well. Hopefully he fills the void left by Milloy.

I was also impressed by Josh Portis. I know he was playing 3rd stringers and guys who probably won't make the Chargers, but he looked good.

Portis looked like he belonged out there. Here's the QB ratings from the Seahawks Site:
Portis 117.4 (Steller)
Whitehurst 84.4 (Very good)
Jackson 64.6 (Not good)
It's too early to be important, but you have to start evaluating from some point of reference.

Only part of the game that mattered were the first 2 offensive possessions and the first defensive possession.... and from that this team has not changed.

It doesn't matter what Portis did... he along with almost everyone who was on the field with him won't be starting for the Seahawks.

That's a very pre-mature statement.

It was the first pre-season game of a very very short practice period. Even shorter for guys like Jackson.

Rice, Williams, and Miller did not play in this game, giving him no one but Carlson, and Tate to really throw to.

EDIT: I guess Miller did play? Hmm.. Was at the game, was hard to tell from where I was sitting :(

It is discouraging to watch what happened in the first quarter, but everyone needs to understand that it is only the first preseason game. If we see this in the first regular season game, then I will panic.

Kelly Jennings needs to go, got beat, and ran over, Rivers pretty much threw right to him knowing, those were gaurenteed completions.
Whitehurst looked crisp, and Portis, after he shook off the jitters looked razor sharp! He had command of the huddle, looked confident, is smart (knew the playbook after 2 weeks), moved well in the pocket, threw on the run, and has a lazer arm. And yeah... alright.. against 3rd stringers , but you know what, its 3rd stringers against 3rd stringers. He did well when under pressure. Let the evaluation begun, and I dont think this is TJ team just yet!

Also thought, Balwin, Browner, Stanback, Clayton, KJ, showed they could add value.

Not really. Tell me the relevance of the rest of the game after the starters sat... please. Tell me how that translates into regular season. Tell me how the 37 players that will get cut matter to this team. Yeah, theres always the chance you may find that one diamond in the rough that makes the cut and can contribute to special teams or work his way into a starting line up in a few years. But generally, undrafted rookies go undrafted for a reason.

Like I said, only the first few possessions that included the starters from both teams mattered. In the sense that it will translate into how the team might look come the regular season. Yeah they may have been a bit rusty, but I'm not just talking about stats and results. It was clear to just about anyone with half a brain that TJ does not look comfortable in the pocket, stares down, and runs after his first read is covered. Whether he's been with us for a week or with Minny for 5 years, that has not changed. Also, Okung got hurt... shows the guy cannot stay healthy, which will severally hamper this team and set the offense back. Who is going to play LT now??? Polumbus? HAA!

Ok, so throw in Rice, Williams and Obi... so TJ may get one more completion. Just cause those guys are better than Stanbach, Tate and Baldwin, that doesn't necessarily guarantee it will make TJ sooo much better. You can give him Fits, Andre Johnson and Greg Jennings and he may still suck balls. If someone is not gifted and smart enough to play QB it doesn't matter what talent you throw at them, they won't become what they are not. (see Arizona Cardinals 2010 QBs).

Now onto the defense, first off WHY THE HELL is Gus Bradley still our defensive coordinator??!! Our defense was better under John Marshall than its been with this guy the last 2 seasons!! I don't see why Pete is keeping him around?? Maybe its cause Pete is defensive minded and runs the defense himself and just keeps Bradley around as a formality... idk. But I don't like the guy and his Tampa 2 oriented defense. Its been around too long and teams have figured out how to exploit it. Why haven't we made even an attempt to duplicate what the Steelers and Packers run?? Obviously we are years away from the talent they have, but at least the Zone Blitz schemes they run are harder to figure out than a fucking cover 2...

And yes, Phillip Rivers and the Chargers have had way more continuaty on their offense, but they've still had about as much time to practice in since the lockout and they sure as hell didn't need the "1st game of preseason" excuse. Szat is right, Rivers threw to Jennings almost everytime.... but you know what, everybody knows what you get with Jennings, so that falls on the coaching staff for putting him in the game as a starter. It's not like they needed to see what he can do... they had all of last year and tapes from previous years. Yet they left him out there, fucking lemur looking douche bag!! They could've put Browner in or even one of the rookies Sherman or Maxwell. At least see how the young bucks do against top tier talent. I bet $$ Browner, at 6'4" would match up much better than Jennings. And Rivers would think twice about throwing that ball his way and risk getting it picked off. Trufant looked good, but he looks good every year until about week 3 then falls apart.

I do think the D line looked good against the run, and will improve once Red and Clemons are in. LBs looked good except for Hill giving up an easy TD to fat ass bowling ball Tolberts slow ass.

I don't think I am being premature at all, I am being a realist and you are being a happy go lucky overly optimistic typical Seahawk fan... the kind that were praising Charlie Whitehurst last year and telling us how "great" he is going to be.

I have the game DVR'd. Haven't been home so I can't speak based off what I saw, but what I heard on the radio is early on they killed us on check downs again. We play too soft of a zone and their running backs gash us for a big gain.
